CPA Global and IP review will be hosting the second in their series of dinner briefings focused on key issues impacting the IP Industry.
On the 25th February, peers across the industry are invited to discuss the impact Globalisation is having upon the way companies manage their IP Portfolios, reflecting on the challenge of 'Think Local, Go Global'.
The evening will be based upon the discussion that marketplaces have traditionally been regional in focus, but compounded by the difficulty and expense of transporting good over long distances. With the drive for organisations to enter new markets and find more efficient manufacturing process it is now that economies are becoming truly 'global'.
More importantly, however, this is necessitating a number of key changes in the way that companies manage their IP portfolios; for example, the balance of keeping local and national brands; the need to extend coverage into new and upcoming market areas (of patents and trademarks); and the difficulty of extending a brand into the global realm, without sacrificing the national heritage
