Hollywood, Florida will be alive with the electricity of the domain industry on October 9-13, as domain conference, TRAFFIC East 2007, throws open its doors for financiers and insiders. Hosted by the World Association of Domain Name Developers (WADND), TRAFFIC aims to enlighten its visitors to the financial opportunities presented by the domains market. The event will be staged at Hollywood, Florida’s Westin Diplomat Hotel.
Reports have indicated that domain-related commerce is becoming ever more lucrative, with Fabulous Research revealing recently that a $400 million advertising spend ploughed through the sector in 2006. Furthermore, domain portfolio owners are in control of a total of ten million .com marketing websites.
‘The domain industry continues to evolve rapidly,’ says Rick Schwartz, cofounder of TRAFFIC and WADND. ‘The serious businesspeople who have invested hundreds of millions in the backbone of the Internet, which includes domainers, know that today's strategies and investment opportunities may not be as important in a few months.
‘We have all learned so much about different types of website traffic, what surfers look for and what translates into sales. Anyone who owns domains, buys and sells Internet traffic, has Pay-Per-Click (PPC) or search-related companies should come to learn and share at TRAFFIC, including investors, major advertisers, IP attorneys and those at the store level on Main Street.’
The conference will finish with the world’s biggest domain auction. At a New York TRAFFIC event in June, $12 million of domain names were sold in three and a half hours.
