New chapter for Indian outsourcing trade
Key players in India-based outsourcing have banded together to create a Delhi chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP). The chapter seeks to strengthen the Association’s ties to the country and bolster the outsourcing trade there as a whole. It was launched on 18 June at an inaugural meeting in New Delhi's Mohan Cooperative Industrial Estate – an event that featured speeches from a range of prominent outsourcing executives.
IAOP chairman, Michael Corbett, said: 'Outsourcing is accelerating across Asia. IAOP's programs, including its ever-expanding chapter network, are great opportunities for professionals to share their expertise, establish themselves as thought leaders, and join together to advance and advocate for the profession and for the industry.'
The meeting also provided information on the association’s Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Master Class – an intensive learning experience designed for professionals who are aiming to obtain the coveted and prestigious COP designation: the globally recognised standard of excellence for individuals who have mastered the end-to-end process of outsourcing.
IAOP's territorial chapters are designed to bring a greater sense of unity to outsourcing professionals from the same geographical area – or with similar industry interests – to create opportunities for networking, sharing best-practice theories and advancing the industry in each region. The association currently has more than 40 chapters, and the establishment of the Delhi branch coincides with news of one for Beijing. Corbett says, 'IAOP’s vision is to build a global outsourcing industry based on common professional standards, excellence and ethics.'
