IAOP London tackles economy's effect on outsourcing

On 29 July, the London chapter of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) will hold a meeting concerning the impacts of the global economy on the outsourcing trade. The blend of presentations and panel talks is designed to bring the UK and European outsourcing community up to date with business patterns in their industry, and provide a context for its ongoing development.

Some of Europe's top outsourcing experts will make a presentation on the immediate and future goals of the IAOP London chapter. This will be followed by a seminar, entitled How Will an Economic Downturn Impact Outsourcing in the United Kingdom? Other topics slated for discussion include: how UK firms can benefit from outsourcing in the current economy; proactive measures that healthy businesses can take to prepare for uncertain conditions; the advantages of outsourcing in a down economy; the impact of the current climate on contact centres, and the effects of globalisation on outsourcing.

Pierre-Andre Dubois – the new head of the London chapter – will moderate a panel discussion following the presentations. Dubois will provide an overview on how the IAOP can help professionals build networks within the field, plus work together to enhance the status of outsourcing as a recognised and highly regarded profession.

The meeting will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at Kirkland & Ellis, 30 Mary Axe, London. It is free and open to users, advisors and providers of outsourcing services who are individual or corporate members of IAOP. Non-members are invited to attend as guests of IAOP. Guest passes can be requested by email from memberservices@outsourcingprofessional.org.
