Who invented Mr Potato Head?
Mr Potato Head was invented and patented by George Lerner of New York City in 1952 and subsequently sold to Hasbro Inc, which continues to manufacture him. ‘MPH’ has played a surprisingly active role in American history. The first toy advertised on television, in 1984, he also managed to win four votes in the mayoral election in Boise, Idaho.
