CPA Highlighted in BBC Report on Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO)
10 November 2008

CPA has been featured in reports by the BBC on the growth of legal process outsourcing (LPO). The BBC's Chris Morris visited CPA's state-of-the-art facility in Noida, New Delhi, and interviewed a number of employees.

Following the visit, an audio report on UK firms outsourcing legal work to India was broadcast at a prime time slot on BBC Radio 4's "Today" programme, the UK’s most influential morning news programme (0731 GMT, Friday, 7 November 2008). Further coverage appeared on BBC Online in an article headed "Outsourcing the law to India".

The article looks at how the outsourcing industry is changing - "It's becoming more sophisticated and is attracting more people with the very best educational qualifications, including those in the legal profession," reports Morris – and also focuses on the increasing trend of western companies to outsource legal work to India.

Inder Duggal, Vice President of Operations at CPA India, is quoted as saying: "They are looking at it as an extension of their organisation. It's a partnership and a long-term strategy, not a short-term 'help me reduce my costs right now' strategy."

Commenting on CPA’s India offices, Morris says: "This is where a new generation of young lawyers are integrating with the global economy - working on intellectual property, contracts and even litigation cases. And all the work they do is carefully costed in advance, with huge savings for companies in more expensive markets."

How to ensure that your contracts are organized and well managed
1 September 2008

Imagine your company is being sued for breach of contract. Then picture your legal department sifting through files, desk drawers, and computers to track down the contract in question - and coming up empty-handed. The plaintiff has all the time in the world to review the contract, while your legal team must subpoena a copy before a defence can even be formed. This scenario is the kind of situation "that would keep any general counsel up at night," says Sandra Levy, legal process consultant for CPA.
