Microsoft Director to speak at CPA’s new product launch party at the Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Sweden.
6 October 2006

London, 6 October 2006. Computer Patent Annuities Limited (CPA), the world’s largest IP support services provider, is holding a party on Monday 9 October 2006 to celebrate the European launch of Intellevate and global launch of their patent due diligence services. As part of this launch, the company has invited Edward ‘Kaz’ Kazenske, Senior Director, IP and Licensing – Patent Strategy at Microsoft Corporation to speak on patent reform and the future of patent filing practices.

“At CPA we’re always striving to provide added value services to both our clients and the IP industry. We are launching some incredibly beneficial products at this year’s AIPPI meeting, so we’re especially pleased to welcome such a distinguished guest to our party. Kaz’s presentation will address some key issues that both patent offices and corporations face and will provide context to CPA’s expanding product and service offerings. His experience at both Microsoft and as Deputy Commissioner for Patents at the USPTO is invaluable and we hope that delegates will take advantage of this opportunity to listen to him. His observations will be particularly insightful for the European market because US companies are using some effective IP management practices that haven’t hit Europe yet.” Explained Peter Sewell, CPA’s CEO.

Guests to CPA’s launch party will also be able to speak to CPA staff about the range of new services, which include patent data verification and title updates – forming part of an IP due diligence package, alongside on-and off-shore services provided by Intellevate such as patent proofreading, illustration, filing and paralegal support.

“There is a lot more to IP management than renewals - the IP industry is changing so rapidly and CPA always strives to be at forefront of that change. The demand on our clients by their employers has increased, so CPA has evolved to hopefully meet those challenges and solve clients’ issues. That’s why as a company we’ve taken a strategic decision to offer a broader range of IP support services.” Adds Peter Sewell.
