Gucci has demanded that the 2 defendants immediately cease manufacturer and trade of ladies shoes carrying a logo very similar to that of Gucci – the famous double locking ‘GG’ pattern. The company is seeking compensation of 500,000 Yuan ($66,600) from the 2 firms.
Gucci said it had found the ladies shoes being sold in the hypermarket and had instructed an agent to buy a pair for evidence. Gucci has argued that Shanghai Basto had “apparent subjective malice” in infringing on the companies rights.
The Beijing court will try the case, but with no dates or further details given.
