Electrical Technology Staff Profiles

Alfred Wanga (Electrical Technology Group Manager) holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. His previous work experience included electronics engineering design at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, Maryland.  Alfred specializes in microcircuits, microcontrollers, electronic sensor systems, organic LED displays, and VLSI based applications.

Jerry Fang (Assistant Manager) holds a M.S. in Engineering Management from George Washington University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.  Jerry has several years of patent research experience as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and as a patent researcher/analyst at a prominent patent research firm.  He also has several years of industry experience as an electrical engineer working in the areas of rotary/solid state frequency converter design and shipboard electrical distribution systems.  Jerry's areas of specialization include optical devices, wireless technology, micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS), and batteries.

Zhimei (May) Zhu holds a Master's and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has done project work in semiconductors focusing on mid-wave and long-wave infrared photodetector technologies and design of photoreceivers. May specializes in semiconductor devices, analog circuits, microwave circuits, semiconductor fabrication technologies, and optoelectronics.

Shankar Ghimire holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Tech University. His previous work experience included work in the Intellectual Property area of semiconductor processing, lasers, ring-down spectroscopy, and electromagnetics. Shankar specializes in semiconductor device design, MEMS design, scanning and transmission microscopy, material science and physics.

Ved Prakash Singh holds a Masters degree in Electronics and Instrumentation from ISM, Dhanbad, India and a post graduate diploma in Management. He has an overall experience of 27 years working in the field of electronics & instrumentation and telecommunication. Ved Prakash holds 12 research publications in national & international journals.

Faiz ur Rahman holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, from AMU, Aligarh, India and is also a registered Indian Patent Agent. Faiz has over three and half years of IP experience. Prior to joining us, he was working as an IP Analyst for Global IP team of GE HealthCare, India and was involved in patent searches and analytics in the field of diagnostic imaging domain. His work experience also includes working as an Examiner of Patents at the Indian Patent Office. At the patent office, he was involved in techno-legal examination of patent applications in the field of Electrical/Electronics.

Subodh Thali holds a Masters degree in telecommunications from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He has over two years of experience in the field of embedded systems design and coding. Prior to joining us, Subodh was working as an embedded software engineer at Emsys, a Larsen and Toubro group company.

Deepak Purohit holds a Masters degree in bio-medical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India and a Bachelors degree in electronics engineering. He has an over all experience of three years in the field of academics. Prior to joining us, Deepak worked as a Lecturer in an Engineering college and taught a variety of engineering subjects for graduate programs.

Sudipta Ray holds a Masters degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He has an overall experience of around two years. Sudipta has worked as a Lecturer at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad and taught a variety of engineering courses for graduate and post graduate programs. Sudipta has three publications in International Journals till date.

Tabrez Alam holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from University of Delhi. Prior to joining us, he worked with the Intellectual Property Division of Evalueserve Ltd. for more than 2 years as a Senior Research Associate. At Evalueserve, he worked and managed various projects including Patent Research, Patent Prosecution and Patent Analytics, in technology areas such as Electronics, Telecommunication and Computer Software. He has also worked with Sify Ltd., (an Internet Service Provider) in Information Security Sales and Consulting.

Ankur Srivastava holds a Masters degree in Material Sciences from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India with specialization in Organic Electronic Materials. He has overall work experience of more than two years. Prior to joining us, he was working with Geometric Software Systems Ltd. in the field of CAD/CAM, PLM based software products and technologies. Ankur also worked as a Senior Project Associate at Samtel Centre for Display Technologies, IIT Kanpur and carried out research in the field of Organic Display technologies, particularly Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs).

Anthony Afrifa-Kyei holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. While at the University of Maryland, he did research work in mixed very large scale integration design involving analysis and simulation of digital and analog circuits. Anthony’s areas of specialization include microelectronics, power electronics, power systems, control systems and electrical systems engineering.

Sachin Agrawal holds a Masters degree in Signal processing from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, University of Delhi, India.  He has an overall experience of 1.5 years in Radar systems and Direct To Home (DTH) service. Sachin has worked in the design and development of bistatic radar system at National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Department of Space, India. He has also worked for Zee Networks, India, in their Dish TV, DTH service division, in the development of a broadcasting system and set top box. He has 4 research papers published in international conference journals, in the domain of wireless communication and electromechanics.
