For those who choose to retain a paper file in addition to the electronic version within FoundationIP, the Matter Manager both allows for manual entry of file locations and integrates with bar code systems, tracing the physical location of files. From interactive screens you can precisely determine the current status of every matter, view and store all documents, exams and related matters, identify clusters, determine export control status, and review all correspondence and notes, saving you money and hassle.

FoundationIP’s IDS & Reference Manager delivers a significant cost savings to users by automating the process of managing related matters for cross-citation. References, after being cited with a matter, are categorised and automatically correlated across related matters. You can add, edit, or delete documents in the Reference list of a matter.

FoundationIP manages all PTO communication through the powerful “merge document” production module. The system comes with over one hundred standard merge document templates, as well as the functionality for users to create their own. The function automatically populates information from FoundationIP into your documents and correspondence in the way that best fits your workflow. The resulting merged document can be displayed as an HTML document, MSWord document or in a PDF format.

 

FoundationIP includes an integrated contact manager to keep track of names, addresses, phone numbers, and other important contact information. Contacts can be defined in either organisational-level or personal-level address books. Contact information stored in FoundationIP allows users to perform common operations, such as granting access rights to a matter or sending electronic notification of important events. The feature is easy to use and saves the time otherwise spent toggling between different systems for contact information.

FoundationIP provides a full-featured communications manager, including an email system. Emails sent to or from a matter are automatically filed under that matter, and emails received can be filed under one or more matters or activities of your choice. FoundationIP also provides contextual posting of notes and threaded discussions, even allowing attorneys to post invoices online.

FoundationIP provides extensive management of docket dates. Users can view date reminders, due dates and final dates for all PTO-related events across all matter in which the user is involved. With the docket date manager, docket manager can be filtered by various criteria, such as time-horizons, PTO events, or matter types. You can avoid the cost of maintaining two systems and the hassle of toggling back and forth between multiple systems.
