Alexandria is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia with a total population of 130,000. It is located in the North East portion of the United States, specifically, Northern Virginia, on the west bank of the Potomac River, six miles south of downtown Washington, DC.Founded In 1718, Alexandria is one of America's most historic communities.
