PRG is excited to introduce a new Intermediate-Level Course for Patent Attorneys and Agents: Drafting Winning Patents Workshop. This two-day workshop is the perfect course for recent USPTO Exam passers or for those who have less than 3 years’ experience in drafting patent applications. Expert PRG Faculty will discuss strategies for preparing winning patent applications, from the initial invention disclosure to application filing. In addition to claim drafting strategies, the course will cover subjects including: drafting the specification to satisfy the enablement and written description requirements; using the specification to support broad claim interpretation; and avoiding inadvertent disclaimer.
The course will discuss the most recent USPTO procedures, PTAB rulings, and Federal Circuit decisions, including functional claiming and avoiding Alice/101 issues. Faculty will also explore how to draft applications with a view to litigation.
The course format will allow students to meet with faculty in small groups to discuss claim drafting issues arising in their particular technical discipline (Mechanical; Biotech/Chemical; or Electrical/Computer), and will include hands-on drafting exercises and individual faculty feedback.REGISTER HERE
